President Anura Dissanayake says that the 99 oil tanks in Trincomalee are more than enough to distribute oil to Sri Lanka. Stating that there are oil tank complexes in the Kolonnawa and Muthurajawela areas and that the Indian Oil Corporation also has oil storage facilities, he states that the Trincomalee area does not need so many oil tanks.
He also stated that an Indian company and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation are in talks to build an oil refinery to replace the 61 oil tanks that are increasing in Trincomalee.
He also said that after building an oil refinery there and storing oil in tanks, Sri Lanka should become a state that supplies oil to the world market. He expressed these views while addressing a function held in Kalutara.
