Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha says that 5,400 new graduates will be recruited into the teaching service and 1,700 of them will be recruited into national schools.
Also, the Minister said here that Cabinet approval has been sought for the recruitment of teaching assistants to meet the shortage of teachers in the plantations area.
The Minister also mentioned that if the teachers must pay pay more attention, not only to the removal of wage disparities but also to the children’s education . And make more commitment by teaching extra time to make up for the missed learning workload, the children’s confidence in school education may be undermined.
