Foreign media reports that more than 40 people have died and several others have been injured after a boat carrying migrants caught fire in northern Haiti.
A UN spokesman quoted the International Organization for Migration as saying that two days ago, a boat carrying more than 80 people left for the Turks and Caicos Islands.
It is reported that 41 migrants who survived the accident were rescued by the Haitian Coast Guard. Another 11 people have been taken to hospital for treatment with burn injuries.
