160 aircraft mechanics are leaving the country

It is reported that about 160 aircraft technicians of SriLankan Airlines have left their jobs in the last two years.

Due to this situation, even the daily maintenance of SriLankan Airlines is becoming problematic, and the main reason for the frequent reporting of technical defects of the aircraft is the lack of proper maintenance of the aircraft, according to the company’s internal sources. According to the sources, the final result of this is the delay of flights.

About 415 aircraft technicians should be employed in SriLankan Airlines, but currently there are only about 250 people.

Aircraft technicians say that because of high wages and working conditions, technicians are leaving the country in large numbers, and when an aircraft technician in Sri Lanka receives a salary of only one lakh rupees, the aircraft technicians of some airlines in foreign countries are paid as high as 10 lakh rupees.
