The National Building Reaserch Institute says that 1241 landslide-prone sites have been identified so far. The sites are spread across 71 Divisional Secretariat divisions in several districts including Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Badulla, Matale, Kurunegala, Kegalle and Kalutara, the institute says.
However, the inspection of those sites and the inspection of high-risk landslide sites is currently underway, but a spokesperson for the National Building Reserch Institute said that it is not possible to say with certainty when it will be completed.
