Buddhist monk, who went to sell two sapphires shaped like a pagoda, was arrested.

The Koslanda police have arrested two people, including Buddhist monk, who tried to sell two Blue sapphires worth 370 million rupees .

The Koslanda Police said that the raid was carried out according to information received by the Army Intelligence Division.

According to the report, the arrested monk is a resident of Weliweriya area, the other suspect is 72 years old, and his son is a local politician of a leading political party.

The seized gemstones are in the shape of a pagoda and are suspected to have been obtained during treasure hunting.
