Venerable Balangoda Kashyapa Thero says that the person giving lectures claiming to be Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is a person who took care of dogs in Egypt and when he had no money to come to Sri Lanka, his followers sent money to bring him to Sri Lanka.
He further said that although information about this person was given to the C.I.D and other departments before coming to Sri Lanka, no action has been taken so far.
He said that this person is perverting Buddhism by criticizing the Theravada tradition and presenting Mahayana tradition. Videos of even a monk worshiping this person are circulating on social media
