Farmers say that in connection with paddy cultivation, many cultivated lands are threatened with destruction due to an unidentified worm species. They say that this damage can be seen more in the districts of Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura and Matale.
This multi-colored worm species has been identified to destroy pods very rapidly in a short period of time, just like the ”Sena dhalabuwa”.
Due to the increase in the population of these worms day by day, the Farming land have become white and completely destroyed. Farmers allege that if the agriculture departments do not take proper measures to prevent this damage, there will be more damage in the future.
