The Ministry of Finance says that the media reports that Treasury officials called the Criminal Investigation Department to give statements regarding the fake distribution of Human Immunoglobulin vaccine to government hospitals are false.
The Ministry said that when the Criminal Investigation Department officers visited the Treasury on November 27 and 28, they only took statements from the Director of the Development Finance Department and the Deputy Director of that department.
The announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance states that the officers have only assisted the CID to understand the correct procedures regarding the procurement related to the import of human immunoglobulin drugs and the process to be followed in using Indian credit line.
It is stated in the announcement that this matter took place in accordance with the order given by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court to the police to obtain statements from the treasury officials regarding the use of money through the Indian credit line.
