Acting Inspector General of Police Deshbandu Tennakoon said that the police currently have a list of 163 people, including more than 30 police officers, who were in contact with drug trafficker Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne alias Harak Kata.
He added that investigations are currently underway to see how these people are connected to the drug network related to harak kata
He said that Nadun Chinthaka has brought more than 4000 kilograms of heroin to Sri Lanka between 2016 and 2023.
“The investigating officers who analyzed Nadun Chintaka’s mobile phone information have identified a list of 163 people who are suspected to be related to him. We cannot confirm whether the police officers on that list are directly related to the suspect. We will investigate further before taking action against them. .Bank details and assets of police officers are in the list,” added the Acting Inspector General of Police.
