The Seismic Data and Tsunami Warning Center said four earthquakes occurred this morning at a depth of 10 km in the Indian Ocean, very close to the Maldives.
The earthquakes are reported to be 4.8, 5.2, 5.8, and 5.0 on the Richter scale. However, it is stated that there is no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka due to these earthquakes.
