It is reported that a person who went to look for firewood in Hawa Eliya Gardi Estate Reserve in Nuwara Eliya has gone missing. According to the police sourcses, investigations were started based on a complaint received by the Nuwara Eliya Police after the person did not return home.
A pair of shoes and a coat, suspected to belong to the missing person, were found in the reserve yesterday (21) by Nuwara Eliya Police officers, the army and local residents.
The missing person has not been found yet, and further search operations are being carried out using official dogs. A 49-year-old resident of that area has gone missing. This kind of disappearance of persons was reported in several parts of the island in the past
