Health union allege that a patient died due to giving carbon dioxide instead of oxygen during an operation at the Colombo National Hospital.
They also say that this death was caused by the entry of a large amount of carbon dioxide instead of oxygen at the end of the surgery. Health Minister Ramesh Pathirana has called for a report from the hospital director about this incident.
