A new circular has been issued removing the obstacle to pay salaries to the civil servants who have submitted their nominations for this year’s local government polls. According to the report, this circular issued by the Secretary of the Ministry of State Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Ranjith Ashoka, has already been sent to the Ministry Secretaries, Provincial Chief Secretaries and Heads of Departments.
It has been instructed in the official circular to consider the period from last March 9th to 25th of this month as paid leave and pay the basic salary to the public officials who have given nominations for the local government election.
