Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, has been remanded until October 13 following her appearance before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
She was arrested this morning by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption over allegations concerning a sum of Rs. 10 million obtained to purchase a CT scanner for the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children. Subsequently, she was produced before the court and remanded.
