The Department of Meteorology states that thundershowers are likely to occur in many parts of the island during the evening, starting today (01).
The Department urges the public to take necessary precautions to minimize risks associated with lightning and temporary strong winds that may accompany these thundershowers.
Rain or thundershowers are expected in many areas of the island after 1:00 PM. Fairly heavy showers exceeding 75mm may occur in some locations across the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Eastern, and North Central provinces, as well as in the Mannar district.
Mist conditions may prevail in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces during the early morning hours.
