A severe traffic accident has occurred on the Southern Expressway between Galanigama and Dodangoda.
The accident involved a collision between a bus transporting school children and a cab, followed by a pile-up involving several other vehicles that were approaching from behind. It is reported that approximately ten people, including several school students, have been hospitalized following this accident.
Police state that the vehicles involved in the accident include two buses and six cars. Following the incident, police have taken measures to divert vehicles traveling from Galle to Colombo via the Dodangoda exit.
