Sri Lanka to provide one million dollars to Nepal for emergency relief efforts.

The Government of Sri Lanka has decided to provide one million dollars in financial assistance to the people affected by the severe floods and landslides in Nepal. It is expected to provide emergency relief and humanitarian assistance to the affected people.

The President of Sri Lanka has expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of lives and the hardship faced by the people due to the floods and landslides. Recalling the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Sri Lanka and Nepal, the President has emphasized that Sri Lanka stands with the people of Nepal in this difficult time.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has expressed Sri Lanka’s condolences, support and brotherhood in a telephone conversation with Nepalese Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal this morning.
