According to the report, a fundamental rights petition has been submitted before the Supreme Court against the domestic debt restructuring process proposed to be carried out by the government.
This petition has been filed seeking an order restraining the curtailment of loans taken from the Employees’ Provident Fund and the Employees’ Trust Fund in the domestic debt restructuring activities proposed to be undertaken by the government.
The petition has been submitted by six people including the Inter Company Employees Union and its president Wasantha Samarasinghe.
