The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued landslide early warning notices for several districts of the island. The warning notice is valid for a period of 24 hours from 9.00 a.m. on 06 August 2026 to 9.00 a.m. on 07 August 2026.
Accordingly, warnings under Level 2 (Be Alert) have been issued for the following areas, and the public in those areas are advised to remain vigilant. The areas and districts are as follows.
Kandy District
Udapalatha, Doluwa, Medadumbara, Delthota, Panwila, Pasbage Korale, Ganga Ihala Korale and Ududumbara.
Kegalle District
Aranayake, Deraniyagala, Bulathkohupitiya, Dehiowita and Yatiyanthota.
Nuwara Eliya District
Nuwara Eliya, Kotmale East, Kotmale West, Ambagamuwa, Norwood and Talawakele.
Ratnapura District
Opanayake, Imbulpe and Ratnapura.
Warnings under Level 1 (Be careful) have also been issued for the following areas.
Kegalle in Kegalle District, and Nivitigala and Kuruwita in Ratnapura District.
