Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin has decided to resign from his post, foreign media reports.
The media outlet further said that the President’s decision comes amid reports that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who left the country in the face of public unrest, is preparing to return to Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina, who was sentenced to death by the court in connection with the killings that occurred during the student protests, had announced that she would return to Bangladesh to face the cases.
The President is scheduled to submit his resignation letter after Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, who is currently in Thailand for medical treatment, returns to Bangladesh
