Two people have died after a three-wheeler travelling on the Nallathanniya-Maskeliya main road fell into a ravine near Mohini Falls at around 8.00 this morning. The Nallathanniya police said that the three-wheeler was used to transport school children and that three school children on board are receiving treatment at the Maskeliya Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the three-wheeler and an adult passenger on the three-wheeler have died in the accident. The police say that five people were travelling in the three-wheeler at the time of the accident and that the accident may have been caused by excessive speed.
