Two more prison officers who were receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital in critical condition after being injured in the Negombo prison clash have died. Police sources say that one of them died last night and the other died in the early hours of this morning. The deceased are two prison officers aged 25 and 39.
Accordingly, the number of prison officers who died in the Negombo prison clash on July 5 and 6 has increased to ten, while the number of inmates who died in the clash is 21.
