Verdict in Pushpika’s crown removal case on October 17.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered that the verdict in the case filed regarding the forcible removal of Pushpika de Silva, the winner of the 2021 Sri Lanka Married Beauty Pageant, will be announced on October 17.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued this order after the evidence examination in the case concluded today.

Former Miss Sri Lanka Married Queen Caroline Jury and fashion designer Chula Pathmendra have been named as suspects in the case.

The case was filed following a complaint filed with the Kurunduwatte Police alleging that the two suspects, who had approached Pushpika De Silva, who was crowned the winner of the 2021 Miss Sri Lanka Married Queen finals held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, assaulted her and forcibly removed her crown.
