The investigation report prepared by the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) regarding the alleged large-scale financial irregularities and frauds in the Department of Motor Vehicles was approved by Parliament today (09) to be forwarded to the Attorney General for further legal action.
This is the first time in history that a committee report submitted to Parliament has been directly referred to the Attorney General for observation and further legal action.
During the first session of the Tenth Parliament, the Committee on Public Accounts convened the Department of Motor Vehicles on 10 and 21 March 2025 and conducted a lengthy investigation, and the report containing the facts revealed therein was submitted to Parliament on 25 July 2025 under Publication Series No. 243.
