Although the people believed that the current President Anura Kumara Dissanayake would bring about greater development than in the 76-year history, the situation has changed today, said former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Johnston Fernando.
He stated that the leader who introduced the most development activities to the country was Mahinda Rajapaksa during his presidency, and that if he had not been defeated in 2015, the country would have progressed much further than it is today.
He further stated that Namal Rajapaksa is the only leader who can develop the country and take forward the journey started by Mahinda Rajapaksa, and today, not only at the village level, but even in prisons, the talk is that Namal Rajapaksa should be the next president.
He said this while addressing a public meeting.
