The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (02) ordered the issuance of open warrants to arrest and produce in court former Minister Chamal Rajapaksa’s son Shamindra Rajapaksa and Priyanka Neomali Wijenayake, wife of former Sri Lankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena, who are named as suspects in the alleged bribery incident in the purchase of Airbus.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama, who considered an earlier request made by the Bribery Commission, issued these warrants today.
The Magistrate ordered the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to send this order to all airports in Sri Lanka and to arrest these suspects if they arrive in Sri Lanka and inform the Bribery Commission.
