Iran launches ballistic missile attack on US base in Middle East

Iran has launched ballistic missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in the Middle East.

Qatar’s Defense Ministry confirmed that two missiles were launched from Iran, one of which was intercepted by air defense systems, but the second fell on the base. However, base officials said there were no casualties in the attack.

Online photos confirm that the missile detection and communication systems at the base were damaged by the strike. Foreign media reported that the attack caused more than a billion dollars in damage to the base’s equipment.

Al Udeid is considered the main command center for US operations throughout the region.
