The car suspected of being used by the gunmen involved in the double murder that took place in Akuregoda, Thalangama has been found. The Nugegoda Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau says that the car was found set on fire on an access road in Kuttyawatta, Agaliya, Galle.
It was previously revealed that the deceased lawyer had previously appeared in court on behalf of ‘Karandeniya Sudda’ and later on on behalf of his main rival, an underworld gang member known as ‘Loku Patty’.
Accordingly, the police suspect that this double murder was carried out by Jayalath Silva alias ‘Karandeniya Sudda’, an underworld gang member who is currently hiding abroad.
