The decision to hold the presidential election first is changed

According to reliable political sources, the ruling party has reversed its previous stance and opted against holding an early presidential election. Instead, the government has announced that there will be no presidential election until the conclusion of August next year.

Additionally, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa and Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the National People’s power, are also preparing to participate as candidates in the presidential election. Moreover, prominent businessmen such as Dhammika Perera, Dilith Jayaweera, and Janaka Ratnayake have already engaged in discussions with political parties regarding their potential candidacy in the upcoming election.
