After 12 years of successful research, the Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology at the University of Colombo has succeeded in finding a nutrient drug that can kill cancer cells. A team led by Professor Sameera R. Samarakoon from that institute has contributed to this discovery.
The professor added that cancer cells can be destroyed in fifteen types of cancer, including breast cancer, lung cancer, and rectal cancer. Moreover, this nutritional medicine can be administered to cancer patients and those who are in the process of recovering from cancer.
