Two planes carrying aid from the United Arab Emirates arrive.

Two more planes carrying disaster relief supplies from the United Arab Emirates arrived at the Katunayake Airport this afternoon (3).

Two of the largest cargo planes of the country’s air force, the C-17 aircraft, arrived in the country from Abu Dhabi.

The consignment includes vehicles, food and essential supplies that can be used for disaster relief operations.

The consignment was received at the airport by officials from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Defense, the Disaster Management Center and the tri-services.
