Market sources say that the price of gold in Sri Lanka has also increased significantly in line with the increase in the price of gold in the world market.
As of today, the world price of gold has increased by $4,150 and the price of gold in Sri Lanka has increased by Rs. 6,000 compared to yesterday. Accordingly, this morning, the price of a pound of “22 carat” gold at the Colombo Hettiveediya Gold Market was Rs. 309,200. Yesterday, the same price was Rs. 303,600.
Meanwhile, the price of a pound of “24 carat” gold, which was Rs. 330,000 yesterday, has increased to Rs. 336,000 today, according to sources at the Colombo Hettiveediya Gold Market.
