Foreign media reports that an earthquake has struck near Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale. Foreign media reported that seven people were killed and about 150 were injured in the earthquake.
However, there have been no reports of damage from the earthquake so far, and a Taliban spokesman in the city has stated that minor injuries and superficial damage have been reported in all districts of the province.
Foreign media reported that the city is home to more than 500,000 people and that many residents of the city ran out of the streets when the earthquake struck, fearing that their homes would collapse.
