The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement stating that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northwestern, Southern and Northern provinces.
Heavy showers exceeding 100 mm may occur at some places in these areas, the statement states. Heavy showers may occur in other parts of the island after 1 pm, and the prevailing low-level atmospheric disturbance to the east of the island will continue.
It is likely to develop into a low-pressure area within the next 24 hours, and due to its influence, the sky will be cloudy in many parts of the island, the statement issued by the Department of Meteorology states.
