The bulletproof vehicle provided for the security of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has been returned.
The Presidential Secretariat has informed the former presidents to return the houses and vehicles provided to them by the government. Presidential Secretariat sources also state that this has been communicated in writing.
Accordingly, the former president’s bulletproof vehicle was returned on Thursday evening.
The additional vehicles provided to Mahinda Rajapaksa during the initial reduction of the vehicles and other facilities used for the security of former presidents have been removed. Accordingly, he only had a bulletproof vehicle and a vehicle for other security guards.
According to the Presidential Secretariat’s notification, both these vehicles were returned to the Presidential Secretariat on Thursday evening, Presidential Secretariat sources further state.
