Former Fisheries Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who was remanded in custody, has been released on bail on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and three sureties of Rs. 2 million each.
Senaratne had been accused of misappropriating state funds through a sand mining project at the Kirinde Fisheries Harbour. The magistrate, who was remanded in custody in connection with this incident, has also imposed a travel ban on him.
