Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe says that an investigation has been initiated against the officials who provided incorrect information to Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya regarding the Supreme Sat project. He stated that it is the responsibility of the relevant officials to prepare the answers with accurate statistics when answering the questions asked of the Prime Minister.
Commenting further on this, Wasantha Samarasinghe said:
“An investigation is underway regarding the accuracy of the information provided to the Prime Minister, because when the Prime Minister is given an answer, it is the responsibility of those officials to provide accurate statistical information related to that answer. So, this is being discussed in particular, including the fact that it is not correct.
I will also clarify the facts regarding this in the debate on the economy tomorrow. Our responsibility is to provide accurate information to the public. We threw one stone, now people are running around in circles.”
