The Judicial Service Commission has reportedly suspended 6 judges of various courts over several issues, including shortcomings in the handling of evidence in court proceedings.
The judges suspended include former Batticaloa Magistrate, Moratuwa Magistrate Thilina Gamage, Mahiyanganaya Additional District Judge Rangani Gamage and three other magistrates who were in the early stages of their tenure.
The current Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission is Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, while High Court Judge Prasanna Alwis serves as the Secretary of the Commission.
