The United States has decided today (6) to impose an additional 25% tariff on goods imported from India in addition to the reciprocal tariff rate imposed. The additional tariff rate has been announced as a ‘punishment’ for India’s decision to continue importing Russian crude oil.
According to Donald Trump’s new tariff rate, it had earlier been decided to impose a 25% tariff rate on India.
Accordingly, the total tariff rate imposed by the United States on India has increased to 50%.
