CEB employees have decided to launch a protest demanding the government sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on behalf of their employees, whose jobs will become insecure after the passage of the new Electricity Act.
In addition, 22,000 employees have decided to write a letter to the President on one day and work to the letter. Expressing their views on the issue, CEB New Employees Union Secretary Priyantha Wickramasinghe said that the next steps will be discussed at a meeting to be held on August 3rd and will be discussed in the meantime.
