Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, who is accused of the Central Bank bond scam, is currently holding a high position at a leading investment firm in Singapore called “Wisdom Oak”, diplomatic sources say.
He is reported to be working as an investment specialist at this firm. Social media reports confirm that his main responsibilities include controlling the investments of institutions and individuals, managing financial resources, providing advisory services related to the stock market and bond investments.
Established in 2016, Wisdom Oak is based in Singapore and Hong Kong. It is said that the firm currently manages over US$7 billion in investments. It is further reported that Mr. Mahendran has won several international awards for his work at this firm.
The Singapore government’s request to extradite Arjuna Mahendran to Sri Lanka was rejected on two occasions.
