A 15-year-old boy who was kidnapped in Kahathuduwa has managed to escape from his kidnappers on the way.
The boy, who was allegedly abducted in a white van, managed to escape from the vehicle in Ratnapura. Later, someone who saw the boy hanging around near a restaurant in the Katandola area of Ratnapura informed the 119 police emergency call unit.
Acting on that information, police officers on night patrol of the Ratnapura Police immediately took the boy into their custody. Kahathuduwa Police have started an investigation by examining CCTV footage to identify the group that attempted to kidnap him.
