Sri Lanka has a new and advantageous gateway to the British market. It is through a new trade package introduced by the British Department of Business and Trade, simplifying imports from developing countries.
Through this, many goods imported into the UK from countries such as Sri Lanka, Nigeria and the Philippines will be allowed to be imported duty-free.
In this regard, the British Department of Business and Trade further says that as part of the update of the trade proposals of developing countries to this new system, UK businesses and consumers will be able to benefit from imports at more competitive prices.
This new system will provide duty-free access to a number of goods including clothing, food, electronic equipment and other goods in the UK.
