Space X owner Elon Musk says that Starlink internet service is now operational in Sri Lanka. He has posted on his X account that Starlink high-speed internet service is now operational in Sri Lanka.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) issued a “Telecommunications Service Provider” license to Starlink Lanka (Private) Limited on August 14, 2024 to provide internet services in Sri Lanka using satellite technology.
Subsequently, after a week-long monitoring period, the TRC and the Ministry of Defense jointly monitored the provision of this internet service and authorized Starlink to expand its service offering.
