The Cabinet has approved the provision of scholarships to students who have passed the A/L with distinction to pursue their first degree from a foreign university.
According to the government policy statement, a provision of Rs. 200 million has been allocated through a 2025 budget proposal to implement a program to provide scholarships to students who have passed the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination with distinction to pursue their first degree in foreign universities with high international rankings.
Under this scholarship program, it is proposed to award scholarships to complete degree courses for a maximum of 04 years from foreign universities that are among the top 500 in the international university ranking indices and are taught in English.
