The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the fourth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement for Sri Lanka. With this approval, Sri Lanka is set to receive US$ 336 million.
In March 2023, the IMF approved an Extended Fund Facility of US$ 2.9 billion for Sri Lanka. With the funds received from the fourth review, Sri Lanka has so far received about US$ 1.67 billion.
The IMF Executive Board has appreciated the economic reforms undertaken by Sri Lanka, particularly in maintaining fiscal discipline, increasing government revenue and stabilizing the exchange rate.
