It is reported that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya MPs have been kept under house arrest in order to prevent the Samagi Jana Balawegaya MPs from opposing Jagath Withana in the election to appoint the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Mathugama Pradeshiya Sabha to be held tomorrow.
Although the Mathugama Pradeshiya Sabha was won by the National People’s Power Party in the last local government election, they were awarded only 13 out of 33 MPs.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya won only 10 MPs.
