Mahindananda seeks bail.

Former minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, who is serving a rigorous imprisonment sentence and is being held in Welikada Prison, has decided to appeal against the relevant decision. Accordingly, his lawyers are working to present the relevant appeal to the Supreme Court.

There is only one opportunity to appeal against a three-member High Court decision. That appeal must be submitted within 28 days of receiving the verdict.

They will also have the opportunity to seek bail on the relevant appeal and the court will decide whether to accept the appeal or not to grant bail.
