Additional Secretary to the President U.D.N. Jayaweera says that the government has decided to implement a tax week called Badu Shakthi.
At a media briefing held today (29), he said that he expects to educate the public on tax payments during the week running from the 2nd to the 7th.
“The Inland Revenue Department has issued TIN numbers for more than 10 million people. However, those numbers have been issued based on information obtained from various sources.
I would like to inform the people of the country that a TIN number may have been issued by the department for you by now. Therefore, you can go to the website of the Inland Revenue Department and enter your identity card number to see if a TIN number has been issued.
If there is someone who does not have a TIN number, you can first go to the website and check without coming to the department. If you already have one, you can get a printed copy of it.”
